Introduction to Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia
Presented By RemCare Anesthesia Solutions
April 28th and 29th, 2018
Altoona, PA

Come join us in beautiful central Pennsylvania to attend the region’s premier ultrasound guided regional anesthesia course. This course is unique in that it is designed for and exclusively taught by CRNA’s. Created as an introduction to the art of ultrasound guided regional anesthesia, this course will provide you with the foundation of knowledge and clinical skills necessary to begin providing safe and effective regional anesthesia upon your return to your home facility.

Lectures will cover the fundamentals of ultrasound technology and its application to regional anesthesia, appropriate and safe use of local anesthetics, and the impact of thromboprophylactic drugs on clinical practice. Eight fundamental regional techniques will be presented in detail. Each day of the conference will focus on 4 techniques divided by upper and lower extremity. Assessment of the clinical effectiveness of regional techniques will also be detailed.

Hands on practice sessions will be conducted in small group settings. You will scan live subjects to develop your ultrasound scanning skills and improve your identification of the sonoanatomy of the upper and lower extremity. You will develop your hand to eye coordination and needeling skills using phantom practice mediums. Experienced staff will be available at each station to guide you and facilitate your learning.

All clinical aspects of the course will be held at Advanced Center for Surgery. ACFS is a new state of the art multi-specialty surgery center with a large focus on orthopedics. We perform regional anesthetics on more than 60% of our orthopedic patients. We are also the home of one of the first truly outpatient total joint programs in the nation (as seen in Outpatient Surgery Magazine, March/2013). Our Anesthesia Care Team follows a CRNA only model. Our staff are some of the best trained clinicians in the nation and have advanced experience in the use of ultrasound for regional anesthesia. We have more than 20 years of regional anesthesia experience and have performed thousands of blocks. Why not come to the BEST to be the BEST?

RemCare Anesthesia Solutions

RemCare Anesthesia Solutions began in 2004 in Central Pennsylvania. RemCare’s founders, both nurse anesthetists, had a concept that the standard model for anesthesia staffing companies had grown stale and that it was time for a paradigm shift in the industry. They began to provide locum tenens CRNA staffing services to hospitals and other facilities in their community, eventually managing the anesthesia departments of several office-based practices and ASCs. Confident that their model would be attractive to facilities across the country, RemCare expanded its services to healthcare facilities throughout the United States and abroad.
